early light, earnest hands

I photographed a class on killing your own meat chickens this morning. It was gory but lovely; people who are genuinely interested in from where their food comes are pretty delightful. Nice light, interesting visuals. I had a great time.

  1. See, this is beautiful. There’s a kind of poetry in that sequence of pics, culminating in the last one which, taken alone, out of context, is visually attractive, and which in context was quite unexpected. Is that good for the plant? I don’t know. It’s good for the chicken though, in the context of the chicken being food for the table.

  2. “Nature, red in tooth and claw”

They all seem very interested in the chicken’s behind. 🙂
    It’s got me curious too.
