it’s a trap

this assignment looks like it was interesting, but it really wasn’t.

from a different day, a different kind of trap:

“would you mind if i got your daughter’s name for the valley news?”
“…that’s actually my son.”
“…”

She didn’t have any daughters to force her great-grandmother’s colonial costume on, so her youngest son drew the short straw, I guess.

the kid was soooo miserable. eventually he just sort of shut his eyes and put his head down to keep people from talking to him. this picture almost feels a bit gothic and the behavior is weirdly period-appropriate to me.
